01 — Statement

The North deserves a civic voice that isn't for sale.

Public debate is increasingly reduced to a choice between two teams. That's a failure of imagination — and it leaves many of the most important questions unresolved. North of Partisan exists to reopen the space between.

We research, we publish, and we host. We don't tell people what to think, and we don't campaign for candidates or parties. Our work is civic, not political: to inform, to convene, and to raise the quality of public conversation in the Yukon and across the North.

02 — Profile

The record.

North of Partisan Association is a federal not-for-profit corporation registered under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. The association was incorporated on 5 September 2025 and maintains its registered office at 213 Neecheah St, Whitehorse, YT Y1A 0S9, Canada.

We operate as an independent civic organization. Our public footprint is intentionally quiet — we publish research, we host conversations, and we provide a point of contact for collaborators, journalists, and the public.

03 — Principles

What we stand for.

Six commitments that guide everything we research, publish, and host.

i.

Non-Partisan by Design

We do not endorse candidates or parties. We work across the political spectrum — and we judge ideas by their evidence, not their origin.

ii.

Northern First

Policy made in Ottawa or Victoria often doesn't fit the Yukon. We research and publish with the realities of Northern communities in mind.

iii.

Evidence Over Rhetoric

Where we make claims, we cite sources. Where we don't know, we say so. Rigour is the foundation of useful public debate.

iv.

Open to Everyone

Our work is public. Our events are open. Our research is free to read. A civic voice only matters if people can actually hear it.

v.

Disagree Better

We host difficult conversations — not because we want consensus, but because the quality of disagreement matters more than the comfort of agreement.

vi.

Quietly Persistent

We are not a movement. We are an association. Our work compounds slowly, through consistency and care, not through spectacle.
